Mad Owl
Posted by Jeff
Rice University’s mascot is the owl… which comes in all shapes and sizes. Nice owls for the brochures, menacing owls for sports, and even Sammy the Owl… our life size representation. So, we’re kind of partial to owls here. Well, before Stephanie writes a post about it… since she referenced it already in her last one… I recently bought a “mad owl.”
Going back to what Stephanie and Jeff think are an acceptable toy, I saw this owl, and couldn’t resist. In fact, we were in a store, saw it, and Steph wouldn’t let me buy it. So, I went out the next day to lunch with some coworkers and they waited in the parking lot while I went in and got it. It’s called “Olive Owl” from the Jellycat folks: http://jellycat.com/usa/… I love their stuff.
Stephanie also got an owl from a co-worker and friend which she fancies much more than Olive… which she calls night owl.
This makes Olive very mad! So, here’s a picture of what Olive looks like when she gets mad.
Awesome, right?! I know. How in the WORLD could Steph not think this the perfect toy for our child?! (Click on the pic to see it full size.)
I think Olive looks like the Mahna Mahna guy from the Muppet Show.
Here’s one last pic…
