Double Dedication

On our recent trips to Ohio and Florida, we wanted to have Wesley dedicated in front of the different sides of the family.  A baby dedication service, for those of you who may not be familiar, is a ceremony where families make a commitment to submit a child to God’s will and to raise that child according to God’s Word and God’s ways.  Learn more about it here: http://christianity.about.com/od/babydedication/f/babydedication.htm.

Performed in Ohio by Stephanie’s Uncle and in Florida by Wesley’s Great Grandmother Frey’s pastor, they were both very special ceremonies… ones we took seriously and know the families did too.  Above is a pic from the Ohio ceremony (performed on the back deck of Grandma and Grandpa Moore’s house), and below is a video of the entire Florida ceremony (at the seven minute mark is where I hand Wesley over to the pastor… and he snuggles :)…).

First Father’s Day

A very special day indeed… my first father’s day.  Since we were in Ohio, we took Steph’s dad out to dinner and Wesley and I had loads of fun too.  He got me this awesome copper guitar pick because he loves me to play and sing him made up songs.

Happy Birthday Wesley! (6 Months Old)

Our family is going on vacation for the next two weeks and we’re cleaning out the pantry… so there’s really nothing in there. If you’ve ever seen the food network show “Chopped,” we’ve been playing that every night for the last week or so. Tonight, it was Wesley’s 6 month birthday and all we had was pink stuff in the pantry. I made a cake, icing, and… we only had 3 candles in the drawer… all pink. I cut them in half and pulled out the wick so I could at least get 6 candles on the cake.

Daddy and Wesley got the same hair do for the special occasion.  Wesley also eventually grabbed some icing, though we didn’t let him eat it, it was fun to watch.
